Dr. Maria del C. Valdés Hernandez and Dr. Esin Öztürk Işık conducted a half-day workshop on 'Recent Advances in Magnetic Resonance Imaging' on June 20th, 2017, to discuss several recent advances in hardware and software, including MR compatible devices, novel data acquisition protocols, and image analysis and processing for diagnosis, follow-up, and survival prediction of diseases. This half-day workshop aims to disseminate and discuss new ideas and related research on the theme, done not only at the Boğazici University but also at other centers, specifically in Istanbul University (Turkey), Acıbadem University (Turkey), Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain), and the University of Edinburgh (UK). The Royal Society sponsored the workshop through the Newton Mobility Grant Scheme. Attendees from diverse backgrounds were from the Informatics, Centre for Clinical Brain Sciences (CCBS), QMRI Centre for Reproductive Health, Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies (R(D)SVS), and The Roslin Institute of the University of Edinburgh, the Institute of Biomedical Engineering of Boğazici University, and the Department of Electronic Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Valencia."
